This closure is due to construction activities in preparation for the eventual permanent closure of A-Bridge Security.
DENVER — Denver International Airport announced it is preparing to close the A Bridge and Ansbach Hall overnight starting Monday.
The airport said the closure is due to construction activities in preparation for the eventual permanent closure of A Bridge Security and the conversion of Ansbach Hall into a post-security area.
During the first phase of the project, the area will be closed Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. According to the airport, all travelers will be required to take the concourse train to and from the terminal during the closure period. The closure is expected to last until the eastern checkpoint opens in 2025.
The second phase is scheduled to begin on Dec. 9, and TSA will suspend routine bridge security operations, the airport said. Testing equipment will remain in place in case there is an urgent need to use the checkpoint. The bridge and Ansbacher Hall will remain open for arriving passengers and employees accessing the airport office buildings.
Phase III will begin in the third quarter of 2025. With the opening of the new East Security Area, Ansbacher Hall and Bridge Security Area will be converted into post-security areas, providing access for arriving passengers and screened departing passengers accessing the terminal from the concourse. at either the east or west checkpoint, the airport said.
“Once the East Security Checkpoint is completed, DEN will install two new checkpoints equipped with the latest technology to safely and efficiently process more travelers, and will serve 100 million passengers per year over the next few years. '' said DEN CEO Phil Washington.
“By opening this corridor to all tested passengers, travelers will have more options to walk to Concourse A instead of taking the train, but still be able to board the train if they wish.”
