LUBBOCK, Texas (News Release) – Maintenance work and repairs will continue on several bridges in the Lubbock area next week.
Work has been completed on the bridge that directly connects southbound Loop 289 to northbound Interstate 27, and work will now move on to the US 84 bridge at Interstate 27.
The Circular Link Bridge will be closed to traffic from 9am to 3pm on Monday, November 18th, due to concrete traffic barrier (CTB) removal. Traffic will be detoured to 82nd Street.
Additionally, westbound U.S. Main Line 84 will be closed during this period for CTB installation. Traffic will be diverted to a side road. Eastbound US 84 will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19 to allow the crew to safely set up the CTB. In this case as well, we will detour to the front road. There will be one lane in both directions during maintenance work.
Then, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, the connecting bridge between southbound Interstate 27 frontage road and westbound Loop 289 frontage road was closed to traffic, and crews were able to use the CTB. can be removed and moved. Traffic will be detoured to 82nd Street.
Also Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the I-27 southbound frontage bridge just south of 66th Street will be closed to traffic as crews set up a CTB. Traffic will be detoured to University Avenue.
Work will be done weather permitting.
