Visit us now to learn more. “We have big ambitions to build a complete picture of data, information and news that helps housing professionals make better decisions and stay informed about the market,” said Collins, who has used his M&A experience to acquire companies and hire talent in pursuit of that goal.
Real estate agents can use that data to educate consumers and boost their credibility at the same time. “If you're a housing industry professional looking to increase your influence, one strategy is to translate national news into local news. Another strategy is to talk about the local market data you're seeing in your neighborhood or region,” says Collins.
But should agents be worried about the future? “I don't see any major disruption,” Collins says. “I think we'll see the most powerful agents consolidate more business and the push for quality will continue, which may make it harder for part-time and new agents.”
“So if we have a few great agents who have developed their skills through many transactions and advising clients, will we be able to better serve home buyers and sellers? Yes. Will that be a good thing for the market? Probably. Will it make it harder to have a diverse, inclusive profession that anyone can enter? Yes. So I think we need to be intentional about how we hire the right people and then train and resource them as an executive team.”
