Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani announced on Wednesday (November 13) that the conglomerate will invest $10 billion in energy security and infrastructure projects in the United States.
In a post on social media platform X, Adani said the project will create up to 15,000 jobs.
The head of the Adani Group congratulated U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on his election victory while announcing the investment without giving a specific timeline.
President Trump has vowed to make it easier for energy companies to drill on federal land and build new pipelines. He has pledged to overhaul U.S. energy policy, aiming to maximize the country's already record-high oil and gas production by loosening regulations and speeding up permitting.
“Congratulations, Donald Trump. As the India-US partnership deepens, Adani Group will leverage its global expertise and invest $10 billion in US energy security and resilient infrastructure projects. We aim to create up to 15,000 jobs,'' Adani said. I wrote about it in the article on X.
The move also comes as Adani Group plans to launch 10 gigawatts of hydropower projects overseas over the next few years, Reuters reported. The report added that the group is considering building similar projects in Nepal, Bhutan, Kenya, Tanzania, the Philippines and Vietnam.
