Global Voices
Purlin's data science tech star, Hasmik Galstyan, was featured as a guest speaker at the 2021 Women in Data Science (WiDS) Worldwide Conference. This global initiative has spanned over 60 countries, 150+ regional events, and more than 100,000 data science participants. Stanford University hosted the event five years ago to inspire and educate data scientists around the world, regardless of gender, and to support women in the field. Purlin has shared this goal since its inception, building the best, most open-minded global team while actively recruiting and developing talented women.
AI with a purpose
Hasmik's presentation at the WiDS Worldwide Conference was part of the “Empowering Women through Capacity Building to Advance Technology in Non-Tech Sectors” program implemented by IFC (World Bank Group) and the UK Government's Good Governance Fund. The project aims to help promote a high-level understanding of the connections between data science and politics, industry, government, engineering, etc., and to promote the role and engagement of women scientists in data science in society. Topics presented ranged from data ethics and privacy, healthcare, and data visualization.
Hasmik is a key member of the Purlin technology team and is responsible for creating the most advanced intelligent personalization software platform in real estate technology. It deploys a unique combination of computer vision, image processing, natural language processing, machine learning, behavioral modeling and AI to drive value for brokers, agents and lenders through intelligently personalized premium experiences. She comes from Labz.AI, a leader in data-driven solutions based on strong mathematical research, with a mission to bring the benefits of AI to various industries and impact millions of lives.
